Top 6 summer lipsticks

Sorry it's been so long since I posted again, had a crazy busy week.  I had a job interview and induction all within a few days of eachother and had to go on a search for a uniform in the days between, which took forever as my body is oddly proportioned!  Anyway, I thought I'd just do an simple, quick  post today as the weather is still lovely outside and I'd really like to go out in it!

I've been really loving pink and sheer lipsticks this month and have managed to collect quite a few, but there have been some that I've worn more than others so I thought I'd share them with you lovely lot! I was originally planning on doing a 'Top 5' but I just couldn't choose between 2! They're in no order simply because they're all equally as lovely as each other.

1// Topshop Lipstick in Macaroon
2// Revlon Lip Butter in Cotton Candy
3// Tony Moly Lipstick in Cat Red

The Topshop lipstick isn't available online any more (Sorry!) but I wanted to feature it anyway because they have some similar colours (e.g.) and also because it's actually a really great lipstick for the price. They cost £8 and although the staying power isn't GREAT, they are so pigmented and have really great colour choices!
Next is a Revlon Lip butter, I only bought this because I've heard bloggers raving about them and If I'm honest I'm not greatly impressed. These RRP at £7.99 but I only paid £3.99 for it because I got it in the boots buy one get one half price deal, which I think is fine but I'm not sure I'd pay full price for one. As you can see next to the Topshop lipstick it isn't very pigmented, however I'm not sure if this is just down to the shade I picked up. (Links to reviews of other colours would be greatly appreciated!)
And last but certainly not least is the Tony Moly Lipstick in Cat Red. I was actually sent this from a lovely lady in Germany and as I'm a self confessed crazy cat lady this is possibly the best thing I've ever been sent. So thank you again if you're reading! It goes on quite sheer, the swatch above is 3 coats so you could wear it really subtle or build it up for bold red lips. Staying power is great too it lasts nearly all day with the odd touch up after eating! I wish I'd discovered Tony Moly earlier!

 4// Revlon Lipstick in Carnation
5// Elf Mineral Moisturising Lip Tint in #D29 (Pink)
6// Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Rendezvous

This is an old Revlon Lipstick that I picked up in a shop that sells end of line make-up so unfortunately I can't find it online to give you guys a link, sorry again! However it really is a lovely sheer pink colour, one of those 'your lips but better' colours but it's also buildable to quite an opaque pink. Lovely and such a bargain at £2.99!
Next is the Elf Mineral Moisturising Lip Tint, I was sent this as part of the 'Elf Loves' promotion where if you spend £25 they send you a goodie bag of make up. The colour again, is very sheer and doesn't show up much on your lips but I think the product itself is lovely it glides on your lips really easily (kind of like lip balm) and the added SPF makes it perfect for protecting your lips in summer! I'll definitely be buying another one of these in a darker shade.
And lastly is the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Rendezvous which is a really pretty bold coral colour. I've never worn coral before as I always thought it looked quite silly having orange lips however I bought this on a whim one day and I absolutely love it! The colours not too bright so it doesn't look ridiculous at all and it literally lasts all day on your lips, its a brilliant little product, especially if you have dry lips.

Let me know what your favourite summer lipsticks are!
Thank you for reading :)

kirstyheart / on lifestyle blogging

For me, the best part about having a lifestyle blog is that I get to document everything. I get  to record all those precious little milestones from my son's life, I get to tell stories about the things we have done, I have a place to share those photographs of our little trips as a three and I also get to celebrate the important relationships I have with words and meaning.

I am absolutely not an expert when it comes to lifestyle blogging, but I have learnt three main lessons over the past year which today, I am here to share with you.

1. Share everything: Some of my favorite posts I have written are those that show where we have been, what we have done and goals I have set for myself. This can include everything from trips into the woods, a Summer manifesto I have dreamed up or the fact that my son thinks its funny to shout IDIOT at the top of his lungs! With whatever I share, I have found that by the end of every month, going back through my blog feed makes me feel so humbled and grateful that I have taken the time out to record those little things. And if your like me and plan on sharing 4/5 posts a week, sometimes this documentation can be a life-saver when you've ran out of ideas.

2. Make stuff: This is something I plan on implementing more and more on my blog over the Summer and Winter. Making stuff. Creating new things. Knitting a blanket for my boy. Trying out new cake recipes. Crafting things to hang on the walls. And yes, sharing each one of them. Even if they turn out miserable looking and would better in the bin, the point is to try out new things and have them either in your home or as gifts for your loved ones. Its not about perfection, its about having fun!

3. Set new challenges: This is the one that always gets me super excited and motivated. I love new challenges and projects. Recently I chose to run a mile-a-day for an entire month. The plan was to push myself and to also get fitter. I decided to share my daily progress on Instagram and Facebook and so I always held myself accountable for actually getting out there and getting it done ( otherwise I would have looked silly just have 12 pictures over 30 days ). From these challenges you always learn something along the way and it is nice to be able to write about your experience and share them with others.

Blogging is my most favorite hobby I have ever had, and its the one I would most like to keep! If you would like to follow my adventures please click through to www.kirstymitchell.typepad.com :)
