eBay wishlist #2

1/ Womens white cutout T bar shoes - £8.99
These are just super cute and would look so pretty with a summer dress. I love the school girl style of them!

2/ Etude House Etionette crystal shine lipstick - £2.16
These usually retail for £8 so this is an absolute bargain!

3/ Harry Potter Deathly Hallows necklace - 99p
A must have for any Potter fan!

4/ Acrylic makeup storage drawers - £10.49
Ive had my eye on muji storage drawers for a while, my collection keeps growing and I'm running out of places to store it all. I came across these ones on ebay, they look pretty spacious and very similar to muji, however they're only a fraction of the price! Heard some really good reviews about these.

5/ Owl Mug - £7.49
I'm moving back to Uni in September and would love this for my new kitchen, its just so cute!!
6/ Lilac Heeled Jelly Shoes - £7.99
Never thought I would say this but I've fallen for the jelly shoe craze! These lilac ones are gorgeous and I'm definitely going to be buying some for my hols in October!

Thanks for reading! Would love to see you eBay wishlist post if you have one :)

Whats in my make up bag - January 2014 // You remind me of the babe.

Now I'll be the first to admit I have far too many make up bags, however I didn't have one with my favourite scene from my favourite film on it ... until now! I found this offer on Reddit actually, which definitely isn't the usual place to find beauty bargains. The offer was from artscow.com and you could pick any image you liked and have it printed on to a make up bag and shipped to your door for for a fab 99p!
I don't know how many of you will actually recognise this film, so for those of you who don't its 'Labyrinth' which is a fantasy musical puppet film (I don't even know how to explain it) featuring the AMAZING David Bowie who also wrote and sang the entire soundtrack (and wears exceptionally tight trousers). It's just a brilliant film and for those of you who have children, it's very child friendly and my sister and me absolutely loved it when we were little.
Whilst I was showing you my make up bag I thought I'd kill two birds and show you what I keep inside it on a daily basis. I'm thinking about posting one of these every month to show you guys what I'm using, kind of like a favourites post.
Onto the actual post anyway, goodness I ramble!

Apologies for the swipe marks on my desk, I had just cleaned it :)

Brushes:

1// Barbara Daly Blusher Brush  2// The Vintage Cosmetic Company Powder Brush*  3// Real Techniques Stippling Brush  4// Unbranded Eyeshadow Brush
I have a LOT more brushes than these four but these are the ones that come with me on a day to day basis. The stippling brush is brilliant for if you're out and about and need to touch up your foundation as it means there's no need to get your fingers full of foundation. The powder brush is also a life saver for when Its a hot day and I need to mattify my face.

Face:

1// Sleek Blush in Rose Gold  2// Collection 2000 Pressed Powder in Ivory  3// Technic High Lights  4// MUA Undress Your Skin Foundation  5// Collection 2000 Concealer  6// Laura Mercier Primer
It was kind of hard to decide which products to feature in this part of the post as I change my face make up round a lot. I have 3 or so foundations that I like to switch around and a few highlighters that I use on a regular basis, but I chose these ones as they are probably the ones reach for the most when doing an 'everyday' look (e.g what I'd wear to uni).
I bought the MUA foundation kind of on a whim and I have to say it's one of the best foundations I've ever used, and I'm not sure if I want to repurchase my beloved Barbara Daly foundation after using this one!

Eyes:

1// HD Brows Palette in Foxy  2// H&M Nudes Palette  3// Rimmel Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara  4// Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion
These are my go to eye products, especially if I'm in a rush. I love the H&M palette and tend to use the darkest shade the most as it has a lovely shimmer running through it and is very highly pigmented unlike a couple of the lighter shades.
The HD Brows palette is just a life saver, I was actually sent this as part of a Christmas swap I did with another lovely blogger, and my goodness I don't know how I've ever lived without it ;) (just kidding) but it has really transformed my brows and makes them so much easier to do in a morning.

Lips:

1// Maybelline Babylips in Peach Kiss  2// Collection 200 Cream Puff in Cotton Candy
I own endless lip products but I tend to buy really bold shades that I only really wear during the night time, if I'm going out. So when it comes to choosing a daytime lip product, 90% of the time I'll just stick with a lip balm which has a little bit of a tint. However I've recently discovered the Collection 200 Cream Puffs which are like a matte lip cream, and this is quickly becoming my everyday lip colour. It's a very light pink so it's not too loud and because it's matte it stays on your lips for a very long time, which is exactly what I need!

Well that's everything! Any comments on whether you liked/didn't like this post would be really appreciated!
I would also love to see what's inside your make up bag, so please link me if you've done a similar post

*This Item was sent to me for purpose of a review, however all opinions are 100% my own. All other items were bought with my own money.

II have been so excited for this box to arrive! It was created by the lovely Jane Cunningham over at britishbeautyblogger.com and cost a mere £20 (inc £5 postage). Unhfortunately these are no longer available there were only 500 boxes which sold out in a matter of hours! This is definitely the best beauty box I've come across not only because the value of the contents is over £125 but because these are products are handpicked by Jane as her favourites. Top 6 summer lipsticks

Sorry it's been so long since I posted again, had a crazy busy week.  I had a job interview and induction all within a few days of eachother and had to go on a search for a uniform in the days between, which took forever as my body is oddly proportioned!  Anyway, I thought I'd just do an simple, quick  post today as the weather is still lovely outside and I'd really like to go out in it!

I've been really loving pink and sheer lipsticks this month and have managed to collect quite a few, but there have been some that I've worn more than others so I thought I'd share them with you lovely lot! I was originally planning on doing a 'Top 5' but I just couldn't choose between 2! They're in no order simply because they're all equally as lovely as each other.

1// Topshop Lipstick in Macaroon
2// Revlon Lip Butter in Cotton Candy
3// Tony Moly Lipstick in Cat Red

The Topshop lipstick isn't available online any more (Sorry!) but I wanted to feature it anyway because they have some similar colours (e.g.) and also because it's actually a really great lipstick for the price. They cost £8 and although the staying power isn't GREAT, they are so pigmented and have really great colour choices!
Next is a Revlon Lip butter, I only bought this because I've heard bloggers raving about them and If I'm honest I'm not greatly impressed. These RRP at £7.99 but I only paid £3.99 for it because I got it in the boots buy one get one half price deal, which I think is fine but I'm not sure I'd pay full price for one. As you can see next to the Topshop lipstick it isn't very pigmented, however I'm not sure if this is just down to the shade I picked up. (Links to reviews of other colours would be greatly appreciated!)
And last but certainly not least is the Tony Moly Lipstick in Cat Red. I was actually sent this from a lovely lady in Germany and as I'm a self confessed crazy cat lady this is possibly the best thing I've ever been sent. So thank you again if you're reading! It goes on quite sheer, the swatch above is 3 coats so you could wear it really subtle or build it up for bold red lips. Staying power is great too it lasts nearly all day with the odd touch up after eating! I wish I'd discovered Tony Moly earlier!

 4// Revlon Lipstick in Carnation
5// Elf Mineral Moisturising Lip Tint in #D29 (Pink)
6// Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Rendezvous

This is an old Revlon Lipstick that I picked up in a shop that sells end of line make-up so unfortunately I can't find it online to give you guys a link, sorry again! However it really is a lovely sheer pink colour, one of those 'your lips but better' colours but it's also buildable to quite an opaque pink. Lovely and such a bargain at £2.99!
Next is the Elf Mineral Moisturising Lip Tint, I was sent this as part of the 'Elf Loves' promotion where if you spend £25 they send you a goodie bag of make up. The colour again, is very sheer and doesn't show up much on your lips but I think the product itself is lovely it glides on your lips really easily (kind of like lip balm) and the added SPF makes it perfect for protecting your lips in summer! I'll definitely be buying another one of these in a darker shade.
And lastly is the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Rendezvous which is a really pretty bold coral colour. I've never worn coral before as I always thought it looked quite silly having orange lips however I bought this on a whim one day and I absolutely love it! The colours not too bright so it doesn't look ridiculous at all and it literally lasts all day on your lips, its a brilliant little product, especially if you have dry lips.

Let me know what your favourite summer lipsticks are!
Thank you for reading :)

Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation Review

I've been waiting for this parcel for like over a month but it finally got here yesterday and I'm soooooo excited about it. Illamasqua had a 50% off everything sale in the middle of May to celebrate them reaching 50,000 Twitter followers, so of course I just HAD to buy a few things. I'm only going to review their Skin Base Foundation in this post but I thought I'd let you have a little nosey at everything else I bought :)

1//   2//   3//   4//

Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation

The foundation comes in typical Illamasqa packaging with a black square lid with white writing and has a thin nozzle type applicator which I think makes it harder to squeeze out too much product, always a plus!
The product itself feels very light on your skin however it think it has quite good medium coverage and definitely hides redness. It has a very light vanilla/marshmallow smell which I think is just lovely, It makes me want to eat it! I'm normally quite wary of using perfumed products on my face as my skin is very very sensitive but I've had absolutely no problems with this.

I have compared the Skin Base Foundation with my usual Barbara Daly Moisture Foundation (review here) just to give you an idea of the colour and the coverage.

Swatched:
left: Illamasqua  Skin Base Foundation   Right: Barbara Daly Moisture Foundation

 Blended:
left: Illamasqua  Skin Base Foundation   Right: Barbara Daly Moisture Foundation

My camera hasn't shown them up very well but both foundations blend into my skin very well however I think the Skin Base Foundation is closer to my skin tone than the Mosture Foundation, also I think it gives my skin a bit more of a glow and makes it look a bit less dull.

I've worn the Skin Base Foundation a few times now and I love it's staying power, once its on your face it will not budge (unless you want it to). I went out in the rain and my face got completely soaked but my foundation still looked immaculate! This is definitely going to become my night out/party foundation.

The only thing that bugs me about it is that it's quite drying, I found that to make it go on my face evenly without clumping at dry bits I had to put on quite a heavy moisturiser underneath, which isn't ideal for hot days! The back of the bottle says it is 'Suitable for all skin types' but I can't say I agree, It's definitely more for normal/oily skin.

Repurchase? Only with 50 % off, I'm not convinced it's worth £27. I'm happy to pay £8 for the Barbara Daly moisture foundation and have to reapply every time it rains.
