Mobile Madhouse Leather iPhone Case

Ever since buying an iPhone and realising that there is literally a million different designs to choose from, I've developed a little bit of an obsession with phone cases. The only case I didn't have in my collection was a sensible one. By that I mean one that actually protects my phone instead of just looking pretty.
So when the lovely people over at mobilemadhouse.com asked for bloggers to review their products I thought I'd use it as an opportunity to get one. After having a look around on their site I ended up choosing the black leather effect wallet case*

iPhone 4S black leather effect wallet case* - £5.90
I chose this case because it protects both the front and the back of the phone and I also LOVE the handy card pockets. I can use this on a night out and have my ID and bank card nice and safe in those pockets. I also really like the feel of the faux leather, its really soft and not cheap looking in the slightest.

All in all this is a really great case and I know I'm going to get a lot of use out of it! I'm considering going back and buying the same one in a lighter colour for the summer.

Mobile Madhouse also stock cases for other phones and even some tablets! They also offer free UK delivery on all orders.

What do you think of my 'sensible case'?
Thanks for reading!

The Vintage Cosmetic Company

I've finally finished all of my referral coursework, I'm so happy and can't wait to get back into blogging again!
The Vintage Cosmetic Company asked for people to join their focus group a couple of weeks ago, so I emailed them not really thinking they'd pick me as I'm sure they had LOADS of people emailing them. Anyway, to my surprise (and delight) I got an email back a few days later saying they were sending me a couple of brushes to review, yay!

These are the two brushes they sent me, aren't they pretty! I actually bought their Shadow Brush a few days before but I have to admit I'm not a huge fan of that one, I find the bristles a little too stiff and they can poke your eyelid a bit which is unfortunate. However, I'm really loving these brushes.

A brow and lash brush isn't something I've ever bought before because I thought they were a little bit pointless, but I gave this one a go anyway and was pleasantly surprised. It really works wonders for your lashes especially when you've accidentally put a bit too much mascara on. The bristles are also lovely and soft and perfect for when you're having a wild eyebrow day!

Now, onto my favourite brush ever, the powder brush. It's soooo pretty and ridiculously soft! I absolutely love it, it picks up the product really well and doesn't lose hairs all over your face. And of course it's pink! I never thought I'd say this, but I like it a lot more than my Real Techniques Powder Brush and this will definitely be replacing it!

The Vintage Cosmetic Company also sell make up tools, eyelashes and pamper kits and have free UK delivery on all orders, which is always a bonus!

What do you think?

Parcelgenie App Review & Giveaway

Hello!

Parcelgenie is an App I downloaded over a year ago, and It's honestly one of my favourites. Basically it's an app where you send gifts to your friends via their phone number. You simply choose the gift you want to send (they have a wide selection of gifts ranging from just £1.99 to £17.50 including delivery!) add the recipients phone number. Your friend is then sent a text message asking to send their name and delivery address to Parcelgenie, then a few days later the gift arrives at your friends door perfectly wrapped.
When I saw that Parcelgenie were looking for Bloggers to review their app I was straight in there. They gave me codes to choose 2 gifts of my choice and also an extra gift to send out to one of my readers, but I'll get onto that later! These are the gifts I chose:

Fudgy Cake Balls - £9.99 (Including delivery)

Birthday Girl Treats - £12.49 (Including delivery)
The cake balls are ridiculously yummy, they're balls of Belgian chocolate cake covered in yet more chocolate, what more could you want!? At first I thought £10 was a bit expensive for some cake but when you take into account that it includes first class delivery, and the cake is the best cake in the entire universe its pretty cheap really :D me and my boyfriend scoffed these in about 10 seconds! Next I picked the 'Birthday girl treats' bundle, even though it's not my Birthday... oh well! This includes a cucumber and aloe vera face mask, wild rose revitalising eye pads (both of which I haven't used yet, oops!) a vintage style compact mirror and 2 bars of Divine chocolate.

I can't fault this app at all, I've sent at least 10 gifts (not including these 2) during the time I've had it and every single one has arrived in 1-3 days perfectly wrapped in their purple paper. It's so easy to do and great for sending little gifts to cheer people up e.g I recently sent my sister the 'Love Monkey Choc' to cheer her up as she's been ill. You can even edit the little note that comes with the gift to make it that bit more personal.

Because you're all fabulous Parcelgenie have given me a 30% off code for you to use, just enter K7HDK4 on the 'more' page on the app to use it, and they've also provided me with a prize so I can run a giveaway for you! The prize is your choice of ANY gift from the Parcelgenie App (not just the ones pictured) so it's pretty much suitable for anyone, all you have to do is enter via the Rafflecopter widget below. Unfortuantely the giveaway is only open for people in the UK. Good luck!

** The items pictured were sent to me free of charge by Parcelgenie to be reviewed. However, my opinions are 100% my own.

Loreal 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar cleansing water

Hello again!

So I know recently a LOT of bloggers have been going mad for Bioderma Crealine TS H2O Micelle Solution. It's got a super posh name but it's basically a make up remover for sensitive skin. I've been dying to try it because I've got ridiculously sensitive skin and anything I've used so far have just irritated it, but at £5 for a measly 100ml I really couldn't justify it, especially on a students budget. Then I came across a review on Mez Made Up where she compared Bioderma, Etat Pur and L'oreal cleansing waters, and it convinced me to buy L'oreal's version.

L'oreal Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution - £4.99 for 200ml
(currently buy-one-get-one free at Tesco)

It claims on the back of the bottle that it is a makeup remover, toner and skin soother all in one and can be used on eyes, lips and face, even the most sensitive ones. It has no smell and definitely does feel like water on your face. I used Simple make-up remover to remove my make-up, then used the cleansing water afterwards to show how much extra dirt is gets of that other products cannot (picture below)

As you can see there is still a lot of extra make up that was left on my face by the other product (sorry it's so disgusting). However, it does prove that it's a very good make up remover. It also left my face feeling very moisturised, unlike other toners which tend to dry out my skin an awful lot! I don't know how it compares to Bioderma's cleansing water but if you're on a budget I think this stuff is great and will definitely be replacing my Simple make up remover.

Have you ever tried L'oreal's cleansing water? What do you think?

P.s. Only 3 hours left to enter my giveaway!

Embellish Nail Caviar

This is just a super quick review. I know I haven't posted in a while I've just been really busy preparing for the exams that I have coming up next week :(.

I was never really sure about the 'Nail Caviar' trend and having only come across Ciate's version I was pretty sure I was never going to try it as they cost £10+. Anyway, I recently came across Primark's version of the stuff 'Embellish Pearl beads' (pictured below) and for £2.50 I thought I'd give it a go.

I went for the pink one as my wardrobe is literally FULL of pink. Unfortunately the Nail Polish that it comes with is an ugly sparkly silver and reminds me of something you'd get in a kids make-up set so I decided to pair the Caviar with Essie's 'Off the Shoulder' (here) which is a similar pink to the beads. I basically just poured all of the beads into a bowl, put some nail varnish on my nail, dipped my finger into the bowl and then finished off with a few coats of Nail's Inc's Albert Bridge Topcoat (here).

So these are my finished nails. I'm still not entirely sure what I think of them, I might try a different colour, but they work great and have stayed on for quite a while now. I definitely think they're worth £2.50 because I'm sure they work just as well as the more expensive versions.

Have you tried Nail Caviar? What do you think?

Barbara Daly Make-Up review

I popped into my local Tesco yesterday to look for a new foundation as I'm fed up of the one I'm using at the minute (this). It's a teeny Tesco so the make-up section was about 1/4 of an aisle and consisted of 2 brands! I had a look at the Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation but found it far too thick and gloopy! Anyway, this is what I ended up buying: moisture foundation in Ivory, flawless primer and the light-effect concealer. Tesco had a 3 for 2 deal on so i got all 3 for £18. Bargain!

Moisture Foundation in Ivory
The foundation comes in a very expensive looking glass pot and also has an applicator wand so there's no need to dab the pot out on the back of your hand. There are quite a few colour choices (I can't remember exactly how many) but the thing I love the most are the lighter shades: Ivory and Porcelain. I have very fair skin and struggle to find any foundations to match, they're normally either too dark or have a horrible yellow tinge to them, but this one is absolutely perfect, it blends with my skin so well. It also has SPF 20 in it which makes it perfect for summer too! At only £8 this is definitely my favourite foundation I've used so far.
(sorry for all of the ugly scars on my hand, I was a very clumsy child)

Flawless Primer
I've never used a primer before but have wanted to try one for a long time. I have naturally oily skin so I've been looking for one that soaks in quickly and doesn't leave your face looking shiny. I saw this in the Barbara Daly collection and tried out a tester. It soaks into your skin really quickly and sort of mattifies your skin, its lovely. I'm not sure if it makes any difference to how long your make up stays on for as I've only used it once, but either way I still like. It RRP's at £10.00 which I think is a little steep for such a small pot.

Light-effect Concealer
I'm really unsure about the light-effect concealer, it should be £7 which is quite expensive for a concealer. First of all there is only one shade to choose from, and it it quite a lot darker than my skin. I suppose once you've got foundation on over the top it doesn't really matter, but it just means I cant wear it on it's own. And secondly its very thin, it could almost pass as a sheer foundation and doesn't really cover much. However, I do like the handiness of the pen with the brush on the end. Saves having to dig around your bag for a concealer brush.
