What I bought #6

I went to Manchester with the boyfriend yesterday, mainly to watch The Conjouring, but we also went for some food at Pizza Hut and did a bit of shopping too (as always!). I actually didn't buy much as I'm trying to be good and save up for uni but of course there were a few things I couldn't resist.
L-R Too Faced Glamour Gloss in Pillow Talk | Collection Eyeshadow Pencil in Vanilla Sky | Calvin Klein Eyeshadow in Sheer Nectar | Calvin Klein Eyeshadow in Snakeskin Silver |

The first place we went into was superdrug where I picked up The Collection Work the Colour Eyeshadow Pencil in 'Vanilla Sky' for £2.50. I thought this would work really well as an inner eye highlighter and a brow highlighter, I really like how easy this glides onto your skin and will probably pick up more shades.
Next we went into TK Maxx where I picked up a Too Faced Glamour Gloss in shade 'Pillow Talk' for £4.99  (RRP £14.99). I'm not usually a lipgloss fan but I decided I wanted to try more nude shades and absolutely love the colour of this. It feels really light on your lips too and not sticky at all, really glad I bought this!
And lastly, I nipped into Poundland as I was quite jealous of all the bargains people seem to be finding there lately. I was so happy when I saw they had a load of Calvin Klein eyeshadows in and decided I had to have 2! There were a few other shades like a deep pink and a light grey, but I thought these two were the only ones I'd really wear. Can't wait to wear these!

I picked up this month's Elle magazine at the train station on the way home which included the Bumble and Bumble Thickening Hairspray (RRP £7.50). I've yet to try this but I'm quite looking forward to it as I have really fine, flat hair so hopefully this will give it some volume!
I also ordered these eyelashes from latestinbeauty.com a few days ago and they arrived today so I thought I'd include them in this post. If you have read any of my previous posts you'll know I'm a fan of The Vintage Cosmetic Company's brushes So I really wanted to try their lashes too but at £6 a pair I always decided against it. That is until I saw them at a trial price of £2 on Latest In Beauty with free delivery. Again, I haven't tried these yet either but I'll more than likely do an outfit post including them when I go back to university.

Thanks for reading again!

What I bought #5

Hello! I have another hauly post thing for you today. This is basically everything I've bought in the last few weeks :)

Barbara Daly Moisture Foundation in Porcelain - Tesco £8 - I've tried quite a few foundations recently and none of them live up to this one. It's definitely my favourite hence why I have rebought it, however I've gone for the lighter shade this time as I think my skin has lightened over the past few weeks! :(

Witch Skin Clearing Primer - Superdrug £3.49 (Usually £7) - I mentioned this primer in my last post, it's the only primer I've used that doesn't make my dry skin look worse so I've rebought it.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer - Debenhams £7.20 (Usually £8) - I've wanted to try this for ages so when Debenhams had their 10% off sale a few days ago I took the plunge and bought it. I haven't properly had a go at using it yet but I'm sure I'll do a post on what I think of it.

OCC Lip Tar in Memento - cocktailcosmetics.com £11.95 - I've really wanted one of these lip tars for a long time but always put it off because I've seen quite a few bloggers say that the swatches online are often completely different to the colour that you actually get. Anyway on payday a few weeks ago I thought I'd just buy one anyway and pick a lightish colour that didn't look too bright. Turns out the colour is exactly what I expected it to be, kind of a deep nude pink, it's very pretty!

Mac Silly - Blogsale £9 (RRP £15) - I found this on a blog sale a few weeks ago completely unused and immediately fell in love with it. I won't go into too much detail about it because I'm planning on doing a separate review on it with swatches. I'll just say I love it more than my Vegas Volt.

Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm - Boots £2.99 each - I know everyone has done a post on these so I'm not going to write much, I just thought I'd add the swatches in for comparison.

Heeled Cutout Biker Boots - Primark £18 -The last thing I bought is these gorgeous shoes! I've been saying for a long time that I wanted some 'going out' shoes that aren't too high as I always end up falling over if I wear heels. I spotted these in Priamrk and they're perfect! They're not too high and I think will look really good as the weather starts to get colder!

August Empties

Again, sorry for the poor quality photo I don't have a camera yet so I'm having to make do with iPhone quality pictures. I might see about buying one with my next paycheck but we'll see eh!
A few people in the comments of my MAC Giveaway suggested I do an empties post and seeing as I already had a few empty things I thought I'd go ahead. This isn't actually an 'August Empties' post, these are the empties from the last 3 months-ish, I rarely use up products so it takes me forever!

L'oreal Skin Perfecting Micellar Solution
I've already done a post on how much I love this stuff about 3 months ago (here) and I still really do! This is actually my second empty bottle of it. It's so easy to use in the morning and at night just to cleanse your face, I even think it's helped calm my blemishes down a bit. At around £4 a bottle it really is one of my favourite skincare products at the moment.
Rebuy? Yes, already have done.

Witch Skin Clearing Primer
I have really dry skin and find that most primers make my dry skin worse, apart from this one which is more like a moisturiser and primer in one. I find that it moisturises my skin really well and definitely keeps my make up on a lot longer than usual. My skin is also quite blemish prone and I find that this helps my blemishes heal faster.
Rebuy? Yes, definitely.

Diesel Loverdose EDP
This is my favourite perfume ever but I use it so quickly, I think this is my second bottle this year. I'm not really sure how to describe the scent, all I know is it's not fruity!
Rebuy? I'm thinking about trying Mark Jacobs Honey instead, but I will probably but this again in the future.

Elf Eyelid Primer
I got this in a 'beauty book' that I bought from ELF and I really loved the formula of it, I don't think it kept my eyeshadow on for longer but it definitely made the colours more vibrant and pretty!
Rebuy? I bought the elf studio eyelid primer instead of this one, and I have to admit this one is better!

Soap and Glory Thick and Fast Mascara
I actually got this in a magazine about 6 months ago, I really didn't like it at first but then warmed to it a bit. The thing that annoyed me about this was that it wasn't waterproof so I went and bought the waterproof one, and I have to say I really don't like it. It's really thick and gloopy and makes my eyelashes stick together.
Rebuy? Nope.

Hope you liked this type of post, would you like to see more of these?

The Vintage Cosmetic Company

I've finally finished all of my referral coursework, I'm so happy and can't wait to get back into blogging again!
The Vintage Cosmetic Company asked for people to join their focus group a couple of weeks ago, so I emailed them not really thinking they'd pick me as I'm sure they had LOADS of people emailing them. Anyway, to my surprise (and delight) I got an email back a few days later saying they were sending me a couple of brushes to review, yay!

These are the two brushes they sent me, aren't they pretty! I actually bought their Shadow Brush a few days before but I have to admit I'm not a huge fan of that one, I find the bristles a little too stiff and they can poke your eyelid a bit which is unfortunate. However, I'm really loving these brushes.

A brow and lash brush isn't something I've ever bought before because I thought they were a little bit pointless, but I gave this one a go anyway and was pleasantly surprised. It really works wonders for your lashes especially when you've accidentally put a bit too much mascara on. The bristles are also lovely and soft and perfect for when you're having a wild eyebrow day!

Now, onto my favourite brush ever, the powder brush. It's soooo pretty and ridiculously soft! I absolutely love it, it picks up the product really well and doesn't lose hairs all over your face. And of course it's pink! I never thought I'd say this, but I like it a lot more than my Real Techniques Powder Brush and this will definitely be replacing it!

The Vintage Cosmetic Company also sell make up tools, eyelashes and pamper kits and have free UK delivery on all orders, which is always a bonus!

What do you think?

I was nominated for a Liebster Award!

I was recently nominated by the lovely Chloe over at ChloeOpinions for a Liebster award. I had no idea what it was so I had a bit of a look over on her blog and it turns out that it's a question tag for people with under 200 followers which I think is a great way to discover new up and coming blogs.

The rules:
1: You must link back to the person that nominated you
2: You must answer the 11 questions that were given to you by your nominee
3: You must pick 11 bloggers to be nominated for the award with under 200 followers
4: You must come up with 11 questions for he nominees to answer
5: You must go to your nominees blogs and notify them

So here are my 11 questions that were given to me by Chloe:

1. What made you first start a blog?
I decided to start a blog because I'd been reading them for a long time and just decided that it was something that I wanted to do - no big exciting story, sorry!

2. Who is your main inspiration from the blogging world and in general life?
I don't really have one single inspiration from the blogging world, there are a LOT of blogs that I find inspiring. I'd say my layout and parts of my blog design is highly inspired by Helen's from thelovecatsinc I just think her whole blog looks so crisp and neat. And as for my content I have a 'blogs i love' tab if anyone is interested in my extensive list of people who inspire me.

3. Does your friends and family know about your blog?
Yes, they all know about it but my older sister is the only one who really looks at it. I was worried about telling them about it at first in case they thought it was silly but everyone has been so nice about it.

4. What is your favourite film?
This is a hard one, it would either be Harry Potter (all of them) or The Labyrinth, because it's my childhood film.

5. What would you describe your style as?
I'd say my day to day style e.g for uni or nipping to the shop is pretty boring. I'm always wearing a pair of jeans or leggings, my trusty converse and one of my many plain tshirts. Then my night time or formal style is a bit odd I suppose, I always pick clothes that everybody else hates. I really like loud patterns and odd prints.

6. What is your pet hate in life?
I think rude people is my pet hate. As some of you may know I work in retail on the weekends and I come across some of the rudest people. People who refuse to queue, people who don't say thank you, people who shout at me when their card doesn't work - I see it all. I think it infuriates me the most because me and my sisters were brought up so say please and thank you at all times, and I just don't understand why other mothers wouldn't do the same with their children.
Another thing that annoys me is mothers that don't control their children - but I wont get into that.

7. Who is your dream partner in life (Celebrity)
My dream partner is Tom Hiddleston (Loki in the Avengers & Thor) - no explanation needed.

8. Where in the world would you like to visit the most?
I'd most like to visit America mainly because of all the make up brands that they have that I want to try.

9. If you could have 3 wishes, what would they be?
1 - Unlimited money
2 - For everybody in the world to have enough food to eat for ever
3 - A cure for all diseases

10. What is your favourite scent/perfume?
My favourite perfumes at the moment are Marc Jacobs Daisy and Diesel Loverdose :)

11. What is your favourite quote in life?
I'm not really a quote-y person.

That was quite fun! So now I have to nominate 11 people to pass this onto...

And my 11 questions are...

1 - What is your favourite thing about blogging?
2 - If you had £100 to spend on anything you like, what would you buy?
3 - Have you got an interesting fact about yourself?
4 - What is your go-to item for the summer? Be it a fashion piece, skin care, make up etc.
5 - If you had 1 wish, what would it be?
6 - What is your pet peeve? If not, do you want any?
8 - If you could be any superhero, who would you be?
9 - What's your favourite food?
10 - What's your guilty pleasure?
11 - If you had a time machine, where would you travel back (or forward) to and why?

I hope you enjoy doing this as much as I did!

Thanks for reading!
