Mac Vegas Volt Review

Hi girlies!
I went on a bit of a 'I've just got a new job and I'm so happy' splurge the other day and purchased my first ever mac items, which is so exciting! After about a week of deliberating I finally decided on Vegas Volt Lipstick and a Paint Pot in Painterly (which I will review seperately).

Mac Vegas Volt £15 Debenhams

I've never really been a huge fan of lipstick because I think I've got really weird shaped lips and lipstick just tends to make them look even more odd, but when I saw swatches of Vegas Volt on a friends Facebook page I knew I just had to have it. Mac describes it as 'full power coral' and it really is. It's amplified creme, which as a newbie means absolutely nothing to me, but the texture of it is so lovely and it just glides onto your lips really easily.

As you can see it's really pigmented and you only really need one coat to get the full effect. I haven't worn this out yet but I've worn it indoors while eating and drinking and while there is a little bit of transfer it really didn't affect the colour on my lips.

Yeah £15 is pretty expensive for a lippy but for me it's worth spending it to find one that I like instead of spending £5 on drugstore ones that I never wear!
Overall I'm really impressed with Vegas Volt and it definitely won't be the last MAC lipstick I buy.

OOTD #2

Hey lovelies!

Just letting you all know that I'm hardly going to be posting at all over the next couple of weeks. Some of you may know I've recently got a job at Primark which means I'm busy almost all weekend and on top of that I have work to re-submit for Uni which takes up most of my time on weekdays. I promise to get properly back into my blog once I'm moved into my uni flat and all settled down and have a more manageable amount of work to do!

Anyway, I'll get on to the post. Last Monday I went down to Liverpool for a night out with the girls I'll be moving in with in September. I'll apologise in advance for the photo's we we're quite inebriated by the time we decided to take them so they're not the best quality, but I just really wanted to show you this dress.

Dress £13 Primark | Bag £8 Primark | Watch £29 Breda via Secretsales.com | Nails Essie Off the Shoulder

I absolutely love this dress, I got a few compliments and one girl was really shocked that it was from Primark she said it looked like something from Urban Outfitters, oh yeah! The bag is so cute too it's my new favourite!

I promise to get better photo's for my next OOTD!

Thanks for reading!

Flavourly box

This post is something a bit different from the usual, I've only ever really posted about beauty and fashion, but another thing I love is food. In my house we like to try strange and different types of food, like when Graze Boxes first appeared, we went straight in and ordered those and I'm always hanging about in the 'world foods' section in Tesco. Anyway, I spotted these Flavourly Boxes on Groupon for £6 instead of £17 and decided to buy one for us to try. They are essentially the same concept as the monthly beauty boxes, except they're full of new foods for you to try. Each box contains between six and ten gourmet snacks, drinks and cheeses and also Flavourly donates one meal per box to food bank charities!
The box came through the door within 48 hours of me ordering it and was packed full of weird and wonderful things to try.

The contents:
- The Wee Tea Company Minty Green Tea
- Nim's Pineapple and Mango Fruit Crisps
- Drink SuperNature Natural Energy Drink
- Ilumi  World Spicy Butrernut Squash Soup
- Joe and Seph's Caramel, Honey and Hazelnut Gourmet Popcorn
- The Raw Chocolate Co Chocolate Covered Mulberries
- Kent's Kitchen Spicy Korma Cooking Kit
- Strawberry SuperJam

Overall I'm pretty impressed with what I got. There are a few things I still haven't tried but the popcorn and the fruit crisps were delicious! The chocolate mulberries were erm... different, but it was fun watching my sisters face while eating one!
Would also like to say that Flavourly's customer service was brilliant, when we got our box the oil out of the Korma kit had leaked so my Mum emailed them about it. The customer service team replied within a matter of hours and instead of just replacing the Korma Kit, said they would send us out another full box! I definitely didn't expect that, but it's super kind of them!
Unfortunately the deal is no longer on Groupon, however it has been on there a couple of times so keep your eyes out for it again, or check out their website here.

What do you think of the Flavourly Box?

The British Beauty Blogger edit box!

II have been so excited for this box to arrive! It was created by the lovely Jane Cunningham over at britishbeautyblogger.com and cost a mere £20 (inc £5 postage). Unhfortunately these are no longer available there were only 500 boxes which sold out in a matter of hours! This is definitely the best beauty box I've come across not only because the value of the contents is over £125 but because these are products are handpicked by Jane as her favourites. Anyway, I'll get onto the contents;

The box includes 14 products some of which are samples and some are full size;
   - B Mascara Full Size (worth £9.99)
   - Benefit the Porefessional 7.5ml (worth £8)

   - Neom Hand Cream in Complete Bliss 50ml (worth £13)

   - Trilogy Rosehip Face Oil Full Size (worth £16.50)

Jane has also included a leaflet with info on all of the products and even discount codes for some, including 20% off Elemis!
I'm very very impressed with this and can't wait to try out all of the products. I'll no doubt be doing reviews on some of then when I've had chance to try them all properly!

Did you manage to get a BBB box? What do you think of it?

Top 6 summer lipsticks

Sorry it's been so long since I posted again, had a crazy busy week.  I had a job interview and induction all within a few days of eachother and had to go on a search for a uniform in the days between, which took forever as my body is oddly proportioned!  Anyway, I thought I'd just do an simple, quick  post today as the weather is still lovely outside and I'd really like to go out in it!

I've been really loving pink and sheer lipsticks this month and have managed to collect quite a few, but there have been some that I've worn more than others so I thought I'd share them with you lovely lot! I was originally planning on doing a 'Top 5' but I just couldn't choose between 2! They're in no order simply because they're all equally as lovely as each other.

1// Topshop Lipstick in Macaroon
2// Revlon Lip Butter in Cotton Candy
3// Tony Moly Lipstick in Cat Red

The Topshop lipstick isn't available online any more (Sorry!) but I wanted to feature it anyway because they have some similar colours (e.g.) and also because it's actually a really great lipstick for the price. They cost £8 and although the staying power isn't GREAT, they are so pigmented and have really great colour choices!
Next is a Revlon Lip butter, I only bought this because I've heard bloggers raving about them and If I'm honest I'm not greatly impressed. These RRP at £7.99 but I only paid £3.99 for it because I got it in the boots buy one get one half price deal, which I think is fine but I'm not sure I'd pay full price for one. As you can see next to the Topshop lipstick it isn't very pigmented, however I'm not sure if this is just down to the shade I picked up. (Links to reviews of other colours would be greatly appreciated!)
And last but certainly not least is the Tony Moly Lipstick in Cat Red. I was actually sent this from a lovely lady in Germany and as I'm a self confessed crazy cat lady this is possibly the best thing I've ever been sent. So thank you again if you're reading! It goes on quite sheer, the swatch above is 3 coats so you could wear it really subtle or build it up for bold red lips. Staying power is great too it lasts nearly all day with the odd touch up after eating! I wish I'd discovered Tony Moly earlier!

 4// Revlon Lipstick in Carnation
5// Elf Mineral Moisturising Lip Tint in #D29 (Pink)
6// Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Rendezvous

This is an old Revlon Lipstick that I picked up in a shop that sells end of line make-up so unfortunately I can't find it online to give you guys a link, sorry again! However it really is a lovely sheer pink colour, one of those 'your lips but better' colours but it's also buildable to quite an opaque pink. Lovely and such a bargain at £2.99!
Next is the Elf Mineral Moisturising Lip Tint, I was sent this as part of the 'Elf Loves' promotion where if you spend £25 they send you a goodie bag of make up. The colour again, is very sheer and doesn't show up much on your lips but I think the product itself is lovely it glides on your lips really easily (kind of like lip balm) and the added SPF makes it perfect for protecting your lips in summer! I'll definitely be buying another one of these in a darker shade.
And lastly is the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Rendezvous which is a really pretty bold coral colour. I've never worn coral before as I always thought it looked quite silly having orange lips however I bought this on a whim one day and I absolutely love it! The colours not too bright so it doesn't look ridiculous at all and it literally lasts all day on your lips, its a brilliant little product, especially if you have dry lips.

Let me know what your favourite summer lipsticks are!
Thank you for reading :)
